My computer needs a new video card?

I just installed the Sims 3 and it keeps crashing because i have an FX 5500 video card which does not support the sims. I just need to know how to update or get a new video card, if it costs money, and how to install it. PLEASE HELP!!|||yes, it will cost money, but its not too hard to do.



1. first off, decide on which card to buy, and i would suggest you look online at stores such as http://www.newegg.com or http://www.frys.com. Make sure you purchase one that fits your computer's motherboard (PCI, AGP)

2. once you have your video card, open up the case, from the back of the computer, two screws on the back left hand side of the computer.



3. Take the panel off, you should see the interior workings of the computer. The largest board, is called the motherboard. The video card will go in here.



4. Ground yourself, by touching some sort of metal part, the computer case will be enough to do so and remove all static electricity from your body



5. Remove old card if needed and Using both hands, push in the new card.



6. Install the software and the drivers for the new card using the cd that came with it, or by downloading them from the internet



7. play sims!|||Your system is AGP based.



Find a decent AGP card (should be listed on the back of the game as a compatbile hardware device). All you really have to do is open the computer, take out the card that's in the brown slot (above the white slots), and put the new one in its place. Once you boot up, put in the included CD and install the video driver. Now you're ready to go.|||Is your FX 5500 onboard? Or is it a seperate AGP card? What brand computer do you have a generic clone or an HP Compaq. you need to read the manual to determine the upgrade path for a new video card.

i.e do you have an available AGP or PCIE slot to add a video card.

Then you have to check on the Sims game box for recommended minimum video card requirements. what level of directX is required for Sims etc.|||How does your PC match up on the rest of the specs?
