What kind of video card can my computer use?

i want to play games like starcraft 2 and i want to update my graphics card and i need to know what i can upgrade to

i have a AMD Phenom 9650 Quad core processor 2.3 Ghz

7 gig of ram

i currently have a NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE Nforce N30 card|||7 GB? Wow that's an off number

If you have a PCI Express x16 slot, you can use virtually any card you want, presuming you replace your power supply so it can handle the excess wattage|||Hi. nice system, but you didn't mention the Power Supply Unit (PSU). A higher end Graphics Processor Unit (GPU) requires more amperage and wattage to the single 12V rail it will feed off of.

I have some suggestions so as you get the best out of your gaming experience while not over tasking the hardware. If a PSU is not sufficient or fails, then it has the potential to fry all of your other hardware.

Here is a page to guide you through making a choice to a good GPU. Just click on the different Article Index links at the bottom of the page...

Once you have made your choose install Speccy which will give you all the hardware specifications of your entire system you need to put into the PSU Calculator(add the GPU you will choose to install also into the calculator)...

Here's the PSU Calculator...

Hope you get what you need and have a great gaming time as I love PC games myself.
