Video Card Recommendations?

I need a better video card... I'm not a huge gamer but I want it for playing The Sims 3...

My PC is pretty outdated...

Compaq Presario SR1720NX

Currently my PC is using ATI Radeon Xpress 200 series (I know, it's bad lol)

MY CPU INFO: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport...c…

I recently added 1 GB of RAM so my PC meets all the requirements of The Sims 3 EXCEPT for the video card...I'm able to play the game, but it crashes often since I desperately need to update my video card.

The power supply for my PC is just 250 Watts...so I know that limits me to the video cards out there...what's the best I can do with 250 Watts? Most video cards require at least 300 Watts but I don't want to go crazy with all these updates...my computer isn't worth updating completely and I can't afford to buy a new one at this time... Can my PC handle a Video Card that requires 300 Watts when it only has a 250 Watt power supply??

I would like to get another ATI Radeon Video Card...but I need some recomendations from people who know a little more about computers than I do....

The Sims 3 Requires:

Graphics card with 128 MB with support for Pixel Shader 2.0

Here's a list The Sims 3 Recommends:

ATI Radeon 9500 series, 9600, 9800, X300, X600, X700, X800, X850, X1300, X1600, X1800, X1900, X1950, 2400, 2600, 2900, 3450, 3650, 3850, 3870, 4850, 4870, Intel ® Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) GMA Series 3 Series 4 GMA.

Based on my PC...power supply, video card compatibility....& best $price$ what would you recommend for me??

I was thinking:

ATI Radeon HD 3450

OR

ATI Radeon HD 4550

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...8…

Would either of these work...I need to be sure they are compatible with my PC before buying...any other recommendations? (besides buying a new PC or updating my power supply...I'd really rather not put all this money into my computer at this time...I just want a decent and inexpensive video card that will give me better graphics and keep my Sims 3 game from crashing)

Thanks!!!|||Here ya go A very good card and you shouldn't have to upgrade your power supply. I hope this helped.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…|||Radeon 4650 or 4670 quite powerfull and shouldn't need a PSU upgrade.
