Can i update my video card in my laptop?

i have a HP DV6000 laptop woth an upgraded nvidia 7200 go video card in it. but the card only has 64mb of mem. is there anyway i can update this at all.|||Practically speaking, no.|||no|||You can refer this link http://ipgweb.cce.hp.com/ipgna/caller/ch…|||Yes but would be expensive as it is built in to the lap top. Call HP customer service and ask what it would cost. Probably would be cheaper to just buy a new lap top.

Help with video cards and drivers?

I had some graphic card issues lately but got them fixed up nicely. However during the process of the guy helping me he asked this, " Do you use the HP video card drivers or the Nvidia drivers?" I use nvidia site to update my gpu and stuff, but how do I check to see which drivers I am using? Thanks!|||Go to your Device Manager under the control panel, and right click on your Display adapter for driver version|||If you have a Computer Company...built PC..you can only use their drivers..

HP,,DELL,SONY,,supply the drivers for the video card they delivered..

===

If you added your own..x16 PCIe video card..upgrade..

Use the CD..that came with your product..

Then go look for the driver updates--or--upgrades..at the manufacture's website../|||If you don't known which driver updates you should take, try some driver detective software, they can detect your computer and decide which drivers should be updated and do the installation automatically. and it's absolutely safe, good luck!

Look under Display

The best video card i can put in my hp m9500f?

i have a hp m9500f with a 350w power Supply amd phenom 9750quad 2.4z processor with 8gb ram and a gforce 9500gs video card. i know i need to updated my psu to have enough power to use a better video card, but that's not the question. whats the best video card i can get that would be better then the 9500gs i have for games and and maybe a move to a bigger then 22 inch lcd Monitor?|||You could do a 9600 but that would be it. The performance increase wouldn't even be worth it though. You have a decent processor and good amount of ram. Get yourself a 500+ watt psu and you can use just about any card out there. And don't listen to the guy saying you need 700 watts either. My friend is running a Radeon HD 6850(a close to $200 card) on a 550w Apevia PSU.|||For 350W PSU you can't get a good GPU, only Low-End cards like the 9500GS which are lame when comes to gaming.

You will have to buy a new PSU at least 450W to use the ATI HD 5770 or the nVidia GT440.

For a 700W ~ 750W PSU you can have any card you want, like the HD5970 or GTX580.

Video card driver downloads?

Does anyone know where i can download and update my NVIDIA GeForce 6100 video card?|||http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_93.71.html

I have GeForce 4 MX440 video card and want to know the difference between that and a GeForce 3. Do you know?

I recently purchased Desperate Housewives the Game and it says that I need a GeForce 3 card. I was thinking that the GeForce 4 MMx 440 would be more advanced. Am I wrong? If so, will I need to purchase a new card or is it possible to download updates for the GeForce 4 MX440? I can get the game to run, but it crashes and some of the color is off. Your help is appreciated!|||Yes unfortunately , you are a victim of marketing.

Even though the GeForce 4 MX440 sounds better because it's a 4 , instead of a 3 like in GeForce 3, it's actually not better.

The GeForce 4 MX440 is based on the NV17 gpu, which only supports Direct X 7.

Now the GeForce 3 is based on the NV20 gpu, and this chip supports Direct X 8.

Your game needs a Direct X 8 card in order to work ok, since it says it needs a GeForce 3 card.|||Games like SIMS2 will fallback to an earlier version of Direct X in order to allow the biggest market to buy the game.

Sims2 has min. requirement of GeForce2, so it falls back to Direct x 7, that is why you can play it.

I guess the Desperate Housewives game only runs on Direct x 8.

|||Upgrade to a 7 series, there inexpensive and will get the job done.|||Their both rather outdated. Any new games will probably have drama's running.
