When i play wow it says i need to update my video card??

my video card is intel(R) 828656 grahpics controller. idk what to do i just want to play the game on. i played it for 2 years straight and had no promblem. o and it also says make sure u have directx9.0c installed but i got that 2. so i dont kno what to do please help!|||I had the same problem with the online game "Dark Age of Camelot". It worked for a year and then when they added an expansion pack which "improved" the graphics engine so that it showed water and trees better, my graphics card could no longer handle it.

I had an ATI graphics card and I ended up switching to a card that uses the nVidia chipset, since that was recommended by the software company.

At least WoW tells you that your card is out of date and needs to be updated. So here is what you do:

1) Go to the Intel website and look for new drivers for your specific model of video card. Arrange to install them to replace the ones you have now. This will usually provide some improvements to the way the card does its job, and Blizzard may be fine with that new driver in place.

2) Check to see if you have "dxdiag" on your system. It should be there if you have the DirectX 9 software. Just go to the MSDOS shell prompt and type in "dxdiag" then press ENTER. It should pop up a window and show you all the details about the DirectX software that is installed. Look on the main page at the bottom and make sure it says "DirectX 9.0c"

3) If updating the driver and the DirectX software (if necessary) don't resolve the problem, then it may be time to purchase a replacement video card. If you have an on-board video card, you should be able to set it to disabled in the BIOS (when the system boots up) so that any new video card you buy can be inserted and becomes active. When buying a new card, you need to know the type you need. Older PCs may have AGP-style cards or PCI cards, while the new ones use PCI-X (called PCI Express).

Hope this helps.

Steve|||Try visiting your PC manufacturer's website and downloading the drivers for your video card. They may have become corrupted somehow.|||the games graphics get better and better, and your graphics card gets more and more outdated. you just need to get a new graphics card. they're not expensive
