Alright so this is what happened.I buy a 9400 gt 1gb ddr2 video card and set it up on my pc but then all of a sudden i looked at my system information and it said i had 504 RAM wich i do not i have 1.5gb of ram on my pc.So what i did was taker out the video card and check out my system info after and it said i had 1.5gb of ram but the same thing happened after i put the video card back inside.I decided to switch video cards for a 9500 gt 512mb ddr2 since i was told 9500 was more for gaming, when i bought this i installed it to the computer and updated it fine and the same exact thing happened it showed i still had 504 RAM.
right now im convinced i need a new power supply? idk much about computers but its kinda making sense and my current power supply is a 430 watt.(WoW gets real choppy with the low RAM) ='(|||9400/9500 are still a bit below "gaming" level cards. They will work for WoW since the video requirements allow you to run on lower end hardware. You'll want to have the graphics set to low to moderate though to avoid low frame rates, in cities and raids (especially if there will be AoE casting).
You may want to see if there is a BIOS update for your system. It might be that it was designed with a limit. Another option is to ensure you have disabled your onboard video in the BIOS. You may have a situation where the BIOS is still reserving some amount of RAM for the onboard video, even though you have a dedicated card installed. Most BIOS's disable it automatically, but maybe yours doesn't.
** Edit **
@ anonymous1_anonymous5 - This asker stated that they bought a 9400 card. This is not an integrated video card sharing system RAM.|||http://www.crucial.com
go though the three steps on how much RAM your motherboard can handle. Also check operating system limits on recognized RAM.

Sounds like you have an old motherboard with the 504 RAM. That is 8 meg short of 512 (both powers of 2). I would not bother playing WOW on such an old system.|||You do not need a new power supply unless your PC starts bugging out, IE: Shutting down for no reason with the new card installed. Sounds to me like the video cards are caching RAM. If WOW is running slow and choppy and you have a decent speed processor, increase your RAM.|||looool... all of your answers are wrong. it's simple. nvidia's and ati's graphics cards can expand their graphical cache (making graphics faster) by sharing your RAM. as this cache can change and (i believe) that it is set at a low priority, it shouldn't be of any performance hit.|||There should be a power usage in BIOS that you can check.
I think the problem is with your 1GB Ram. try to unplug and put it back again.|||Exactly where do you see this "504 RAM" Listed? Is this in the control Panel properties or in the Device manager? Please respond need more info.
